RSNA description

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) is a non-profit organization that represents professionals spanning the full breadth of radiologic subspecialties in more than 150 countries around the world.

RSNA products, programs and collaborations

RSNA products, programs and collaborations should be referenced consistently in all content:

  • gold medal—capitalize RSNA Gold Medal; other organization’s awards are lowercase: ACR gold medal; two gold medals.
  • IHE®—Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise; Use ® in title and on first reference. 
  • Image Wisely®—Use ® in title and on first reference. 
  • MIDRC—Medical Imaging Data and Resource Center, a collaboration of RSNA and several other societies and institutions to create an open access platform to collect, annotate, store and share COVID-related medical images.
  • Program titles—Titles of RSNA programs or courses should be italicized; For example, Building Connections Across the Americas: Addressing Access to Radiology program
  • Quantitative Imaging Committee (QUIC) —formerly QIBA® Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers Alliance
  • RadioGraphics podcasts

  • RSNA—not “the RSNA”; for outside the organization usage, spell out on first reference unless logo is on same page; use RSNA on membership communications; also may use Society (capital S) to reference RSNA
  • RSNA Board of Directors, always capitalize Board when referencing the RSNA BOD
  • RSNA Board of Directors liaison for education -titles are lowercase unless preceding the director’s name
  • RSNA chair—not chairman

  • RSNA Imaging AI Certificate Program—"First-ever, radiology-specific AI certificate program”
  • RSNA Imaging AI Foundational Certificate—the Foundational Certificate on second reference
  • RSNA Emergency Imaging AI Certificate—Emergency Certificate on second reference

  • RSNA Spotlight Course—Spotlight Course on second reference
  • RSNA president—no year for current president; past presidents can reference as 2002 RSNA president or “served as president in 2002”

  • Presidents Circle Program (not President’s)
  • Foundation Focus - quarterly newsletter
  • When referencing grants, the title of the grant is RSNA (not R&E). For example, the 2019 RSNA Research Fellow Grant. Whenever possible, add the context of “awarded by the R&E Foundation,” but that is not required with every reference.
