RSNA annual meeting
Meeting name
The full name of the annual meeting is RSNA 20XX or the 1XXth Scientific Assembly & Annual Meeting. Each meeting has a theme which should be italicized in body copy*. Other approved references to the annual meeting are:
- RSNA annual meeting
- the annual meeting (on later reference)
- RSNA 202X: Meeting Theme
For general references to the annual meeting or RSNA annual meeting, use lowercase.
Social media hashtags use the 2-digit year: #RSNAXX. Refer to the Social media section for additional guidelines.
* The meeting theme may be displayed without italics to conform to media platform limitations such as those on social media, in web headers or email subject lines.
Virtual Access
Previously referred to as the Virtual Meeting, Virtual Access (title case) refers to the part of the annual meeting that can be viewed/accessed online. Usage examples are:
- Add Virtual Access to your RSNA 20XX registration.
- Virtual Access is available until April 30, 20XX, noon CT.
- Explore RSNA 20XX from anywhere with Virtual Access.
Describe Virtual Access content as, “attendees with Virtual Access can view 480+ education and science sessions until April 30, 2025, noon CT."

- Technical Exhibits / Technical Exhibits halls – never technical exhibition. "Technical Exhibits" is the formal name of this meeting element. Make sure "halls" is plural when used. For informal reference, it is okay to use lowercase "exhibit halls." Do not use "technical exhibits halls" or "technical exhibit halls."
- Virtual Access
- Virtual Exhibits (or virtual exhibits)—should be promoted together as part of the available Technical Exhibits. During the meeting, the Virtual Exhibits can be promoted as an add-on benefit:
“All meeting registrants, regardless of registration type, can visit our virtual exhibits through Meeting Central.”
Terminology for annual meeting location
- McCormick Place is the traditional location of the annual meeting. When writing about specific locations within McCormick Place, use commas to separate areas: Technical Exhibits, South Hall A and North Hall B, Level 3 OR North Building, Level 2, near McDonald’s
- McCormick Place contains the following spaces:
- Lakeside Center East (Learning Center)
- Technical Exhibits: South Hall A, North Hall B – Use only these terms to distinguish between exhibit halls.
- Grand Concourse (meeting services)
- When referencing areas other than the exhibit halls, you can say, “North Building”. For example, “The Arie Crown theater is in the East Building.”
- Residents Lounge—located in the Learning Center

- RSNAI Resource Center is no longer taking place at RSNA 2024

- Welcome Reception: Enjoy drinks, light appetizers and stimulating conversation following the Opening Session. All professional attendees are invited to attend.
- Exhibit Hall Tours: Attendees can take a guided tour of the exhibit hall floor and get personalized time to engage with a selection of highlighted exhibitors. Sold out in 2024.
