What has been your best professional accomplishment?

My best professional accomplishment is being a 2024 ACR Hillman Fellow for the Journal of the American College of Radiology. Through the fellowship, I have started my own podcast called “Radiology Today” that is available on Apple podcasts and Spotify, and I have been able to delve into the current issues that our field is facing.

I am also proud of the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award that I received in residency that really inspired me to continue to go above and beyond.

What has been your biggest career challenge?

The biggest challenge I have faced in my career is trying to navigate the tumultuous current radiology landscape.  All radiologists feel the pressure, and trying to balance the imaging volumes with the need for radiology leadership and administrative duties is a precarious task.

While I want to pursue all avenues of professional leadership and growth, I must weigh it with the need to maintain increasing clinical duties and the need for sleep. Having only been in practice for about a year and half, it has been a challenging time to be in the workforce.

What RSNA resources have you used to assist with professional development and your daily practice?

The RSNA resources that I use the most are the RSNA journals which are key for successful practice. Specifically, RadioGraphics is one of the higher yield journals to use for cutting edge articles as well as refreshers on imaging.

Additionally, the RSNA National Imaging Informatics Course was particularly helpful in jumpstarting my interest in imaging informatics and eventually receiving my Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) designation through the American Board of Imaging Informatics.

When you’re not working, how do you like to spend your free time?

When I am not working, you will find me cheering for the South Carolina Gamecock baseball team (NCAA National Champs 2010 and 2011).  If it’s not college baseball season, you’ll find me editing my podcast in my office.
