RSNA Announces Special Business Meeting

Meeting planned for May 19 to consider Bylaw amendments

RSNA recognizes the value that inclusion of diverse leadership brings to the profession, the importance of representing the diversity of perspectives across Society membership and the critical role leadership opportunities play in career development. In its commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion, the RSNA Board of Directors has approved proposed amendments to the RSNA Bylaws.

The proposed changes are designed to create a flexible structure that will invite more voices to Board deliberations and add more varied expertise. Additionally, the changes would create increased flexibility to include more midcareer professionals and private practitioners in Board discussions, which will provide those key members of the radiology profession a stronger voice in the development of strategies, programs and services that accommodate their unique needs.

Specifically, the proposed RSNA Bylaw amendments would modify the size of the Board from eight to a range of seven to 11 members. The President, Chair and five additional members would serve as Standing Directors and maintain the succession of Board leadership. Up to four additional members would serve as At-Large Directors. The full proposal document details the proposed changes and the amended Bylaws. Current RSNA Bylaws can be viewed online.

A Special Business Meeting will be held May 19 at 9:30 a.m. Central time to present an overview of proposed amendments to the RSNA Bylaws and to seek adoption by eligible voting RSNA members of the amended Bylaws as a whole as presented by the Committee on Bylaws and Resolutions.  Registration for the meeting is now closed.
