RSNA 2020 Registration Tops 16,000 Ahead of Meeting
Join radiology’s premier annual meeting and experience the ease of an all-virtual format
With strong advance registration numbers, the RSNA 106th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting (RSNA 2020) is shaping up to be a success. Three weeks ahead of the meeting, 16,230 people from countries around the world are already registered to attend the virtual event, held Nov. 29 – Dec. 5, 2020.
RSNA 2020: Human Insight/Visionary Medicine will allow thousands of attendees to network with colleagues and experience RSNA 2020 from the comfort of their homes or offices.
“We’re very pleased to have this many attendees registered so far in advance of our first-ever entirely virtual event, and we expect registration to continue to grow. Many people register later for online events than they do for in-person meetings. This just confirms that the RSNA Annual Meeting is radiology’s premier yearly forum, no matter the format,” said RSNA president James P. Borgstede, MD.
Dr. Borgstede’s much anticipated President’s Address, “One World, One Radiology Community: A Vision for Tomorrow,” promises to be a meeting highlight.
Highlights of the Physical Meeting to be Showcased on the Virtual Stage
RSNA recognizes that connecting international radiology professionals to share insights and best practices is more critical than ever during this global public health crisis. Therefore, the Society has developed an online experience brimming with exciting engagement opportunities that will connect presenters, exhibitors and attendees through virtual exhibits, live demonstrations, educational presentations, networking events, and more.
With a jam-packed schedule of featured education and science sessions, education exhibits, Cases of the Day and additional on-demand sessions, RSNA’s high-quality education will keep attendees informed, engaged and inspired.
The program features a broad selection of world-class education across every subspecialty. In addition, there will be five Hot Topic sessions related to COVID-19, two sessions related to radiology department readiness and resilience, a variety of Special Interest sessions and a two-part Imaging Symposium.
Interactive sessions, live Q&A with presenters and chat features for networking will enhance the virtual experience. An extensive on-demand catalog will offer a wealth of CME opportunities, and the digital presentation system will house over a thousand scientific posters and nearly 1,500 education exhibits.
Featured speakers include:
- Shankar Vedantam, will deliver the New Horizons Lecture, “Insights for Radiology from the Hidden Brain.”
- Kristen DeStigter, MD, with the Opening Session lecture, “The Power of Radiology to Drive Collective Action and Transform Global Health.”
- Bhavya Rehani, MD, giving the Annual Oration in Diagnostic Radiology, “Building A Better Future for the Global Radiology Community: Selfless Service, Innovative Technologies & Online Radiology Education for COVID-19 & Beyond.”
- Beth A. Erickson, MD, delivering the Annual Oration in Radiation Oncology, “Imagers and Images: My Friends; My Indispensable Guide.”

Virtual Exhibition Offers Exclusive Content
The Virtual Exhibition offers a lineup of nearly 200 of the leading vendors in medical imaging with exclusive exhibitor and corporate programming throughout the week. Attendees will have ample opportunities to network with exhibitors one-on-one and discover the latest innovations in equipment and software.
The exhibition will feature pre-show industry presentations from 7–8 a.m. CT (Monday to Wednesday), featured demonstrations from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. and 2 to 5:30 p.m. CT, and Industry Hour and Lunch & Learns from 12 to 2 p.m. CT. Attendees can access the virtual exhibits 24 hours a day, Nov. 29 through Dec. 5, and can interact with the booth staff each day (8 a.m. – 6 p.m. CT).
The AI Showcase, sponsored by Canon Medical, Nuance Communications and Zebra Medical Vision, will highlight recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI). Featured in the showcase, the Imaging AI in Practice demonstration is a multi-vendor interoperability demonstration to showcase new technologies and communications standards needed to integrate AI into the diagnostic radiology workflow. Using real-world clinical scenarios, 16 vendors demonstrate more than 26 systems, such as PACS, reporting and AI applications, to show how AI can be used to support improvements in patient care.
“We’re delighted to have so many exhibitors joining us for the Virtual Exhibition,” Dr. Borgstede said. “The schedule has been designed to provide ample engagement opportunities, while showcasing the latest technological innovations and solutions.”
