RSNA Hosts Radiology Surge and Second Surge Preparedness Webinars
Topics will focus on managing surges and readiness preparation
RSNA held the first of two RSNA webinars on COVID-19 surge preparedness in radiology departments. Entitled, “Radiology Surge and Second Surge Preparedness (Part 1),” the first webinar focused on strategies and tactics hospitals in the U.S. and internationally can implement to prepare for and handle the surge of COVID-19 patients.
Radiologists from Singapore, Argentina and the U.S. discussed readiness based on past experience with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) virus, how to manage a COVID-19 surge in the first wave and how low-resource countries can prepare for surges.
Faculty included RSNA Board Liaison for Publications and Communications Jeffrey Klein, MD, FACR; Bien Soo Tan, MBBS, FRCR; Kiang-Hiong Tay, MBBS, FRCR, FAMS; Judy Yee, MD, FACR and Santiago Rossi, MD.
Part 2, will be held in June and will focus on second surge preparedness.
