Leadership Circle Program Grows with $10,000 Contribution from Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation Inc.

As the R&E Foundation celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, we welcome support from companies with equally impressive histories. Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation Inc. has a storied history as a leading manufacturer of state-of-the-art high frequency CT generators and recently became the newest Leadership Circle Program donor with a $10,000 contribution.

Spellman is the world's leading independent supplier of precision DC high voltage power supplies, X-Ray generators and Monoblock® X-Ray sources for medical applications, particularly medical imaging, diagnostics and therapy. Spellman helped to pioneer the modern helical CT scanner by providing the first generator mounted on a continuously rotating gantry. Their state-of-the-art CT Generator platforms feature industry leading performance in rise time, arc management and unmatched reliability.

President and CEO, Loren Skeist, MD, explains why Spellman’s history led to support for the Foundation in this milestone year.

“Congratulations to the RSNA Research & Education Foundation on their 40th anniversary! Forty years ago, Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation Inc. began development of a custom high voltage power source for Picker’s first Computerized Tomography (CT) system, and shortly thereafter, began a second project to create a high voltage source that could be mounted close to the X-ray tube on the gantry, enabling Picker to release one of the first helical CT systems. Since then, we have had the privilege of providing custom, high voltage solutions to many technology innovators in medical radiography, which remains our largest market segment.

“Spellman’s vision, to provide high voltage solutions that enable progress in health, security, and quality of life, can only be achieved if effective STEM research and education is conducted and provided. Programs such as the RSNA R&E Foundation make critical investments in developing the people and the basic research needed to advance radiological technologies. We are honored to support the RSNA R&E Foundation as a $10,000 Advocate level donor through the Leadership Circle.”

The Leadership Circle Program is designed to provide exhibiting companies a vehicle through which they can support radiology’s future and receive a host of annual meeting enhancements including recognition and benefits that increase with the level of support. Donors can give at the $5,000 Benefactor level, $10,000 Advocate level, or $25,000 Champion level. Click here to learn more about the Leadership Circle Program.

Thank you, Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation Inc., for funding radiology’s future!
